Rookwood Seahorse Incised Vase, 1947

Bittersweet Antiques presents this Rookwood incised Seahorse design vase. Produced in 1947, it is dated LXVII and numbered 6292C. I have seen this shape undecorated, while this one has a wonderful symmetrical seahorse design incised into it. The vase stands 7 and 1/2 inches tall, it is 5 and 7/8 inches wide, and it is 2 and 1/4 inches deep. The glaze is high gloss and has crazing visible at certain angles. There are 2 small glaze flakes at the base on the back. There are also 2 small glaze misses on the upper right side corner that is probably the reason this piece was "Xed" on the bottom at the factory. It is still a lovely hand incised production Rookwood vase.
