This is a marvelous Mid-Century Modern table lamp by C. Miller that was produced in 1956 as indicated by the copyright mark and date on the back. The lamp has been our bedside lamp for a number of years and is in excellent condition and working order.

The lamp is in the form of a Mississippi side paddle river boat. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gold highlights are in excellent condition as well, from the "water" to the top. The electrical items are original and it does have a non-polarized plug. The fiberglass shade is also original and also in excellent condition with no tears, rips, or stains.

The pottery portion stands 10 inches tall to the top of the smoke stack and 12 inches from bow to stern. With the shade on, the lamp stands 19 and 1/2 inches tall and 15 and 1/2 inches wide. On the side of the paddle wheel is written: "New Orleans Packet" and under that: "ShowBoat".
