Brush McCoy Hunt Musical Jug Decanter

This musical jug decanter does not show up in the Brush McCoy catalogs, but it is clearly a Brush McCoy product. The musical box indentation and the parallel lines on the bottom from setting on a rack are characteristic of Brush McCoy production. Brush produced several lines for custom customers.

This jug is known as the Hunt Decanter for the forest scenes and hunting dogs depicted on the sides. The only colors found have been these, a green background with darker sponging on certain places like the dogs.

The jug stands 10 and 1/4 inches tall and is 5 inches on each side. The music box works fine, but I do not recognize the tune. The holding mechanism is typical early Brush of a metal band that fits in molded slots.

It is in excellent condition. The only fault is a small breakout on the bottom rim where the piece was removed from the kiln.
