Bittersweet Antiques presents this lovely Japanese Satsuma style vase. Although there is no mark, the vase is consistent with Japanese production from the turn of the last century. There is a hole drilled in the bottom center and there are also 2 provisions for the lamp cord; a hole in the base and a notch cut out of the bottom rim. Here is a nice pair from our collection of Japanese wallpockets. These were purchased together and while they could be separated, with the boy and girl theme, I believe they are a matched pair and I will keep them together. Both wall pockets are in excellent condition; no chips, cracks, or repairs. The top inside corners of the boy pocket have some roughness, but it does not appear to me to be damage, but how it came from the factory. The wall pockets are both nicely glazed in at least 6 ...

This is a Japanese wallpocket depicting a stand of hand painted irises. No damage. There is rim roughness but appears to be how the pocket was finished at the factory. The wallpocket is 6 and 3/8 inches tall and 3 and 1/2 inches at its widest.

Bittersweet Antiques presents this Japanese matte wallpocket made probably in the 1940s. The wallpocket stands 7 and 1/2 inches tall with an opening 2 and 1/2 wide and 1 and 1/2 inches deep. There is a Greek key design around the top opening. The body has what looks to be Dahlias in reds and yellow. Well marked on the back with an impressed "MADE IN JAPAN" and below that another mark which is probably the maker's mark, which I have been unable to identify. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
