19th Century Copperplate Engraving - Pierre Joseph Redoute

This original, color printed and hand finished, stipple engraving is from Pierre Joseph Redoute’s: Les Liliacées. It was drawn by Redoute, engraved by de Gouy, and printed by Langlois in Paris, 1802. The large folio measures 14” X 20” with a platemark at 10.5” X 14”. The image area is in excellent condition, while there is modest age toning to the sheet’s edges. The original stitch holes remain visible at the left margin. The original color remains bright and vibrant. This print is in an acid-free environment and shrink wrapped for protection.
