This original, hand colored, copperplate engraving – Monstrosities of 1824 – was drawn and engraved by George Cruikshank and printed by Thomas McLean in London, England, 1835. This satirical look at the fashion of the day is in very good to excellent condition with one unobtrusive repaired tear at the top margin. The tear does not intrude into the image area. The matted print measures 16.25” X 20.75” with a mat window of 10” X 14.5”. This rare, colorful print, is held to acid-free foamcore with archival hinges and freshly matted with cotton rag matting. It is shrink wrapped for protection. The shrink wrap may cause some glare in the photos. Please email questions; additional pictures are available on request.
