This print, Clematis (Plate 300, Clematis and Vine bower), is an original, hand colored, copperplate engraving, from Hortus Eystettensis by Basilius Besler. It was drawn by Besler and printed by Konrad Bauer in Altdorf, Germany, 1613. The large folio print measures 21.75" X 25.75" matted. The platemark is 16" X 19.5". The print is in excellent condition in every respect. The desirable offsetting, which is common to first edition Beslers, is clearly visible. Please email for additional information or pictures.
