This print, Bear's-foot and crocus, is an original, hand colored, copperplate engraving, from Hortus Eystettensis by Basilius Besler. It was drawn by Besler and first published by Konrad Bauer in Altdorf, Germany, 1613. This large folio print is from the 2nd Edition and was printed in Nuremburg in 1640. The print measures 16.25” X 20.75" with the platemark at 15.5" X 19". The print is in excellent condition with even age toning throughout.
