This print, Hyacinthus and Violaflammea, is an original, hand colored, copperplate engraving, from Hortus Eystettensis by Basilius Besler. It was drawn by Besler and first published by Konrad Bauer in Altdorf, Germany, 1613. This large folio print is from the 3rd Edition and was printed in Nuremburg in 1713. The print measures 16.5” X 21" with the platemark at 15.5" X 19". The print is in excellent condition in every respect. The desirable offsetting, which is common to 1st and 3rd edition Beslers, is clearly visible. Please email questions. Additional pictures are available on request.
