This original, line and stipple copperplate engraving with printing a la poupee, entitled – Le Toco No. 2 - is from Francois Levaillant's: Histoire Naturelle des oiseaux de paradis et ces Rolliers, Suivie de Celle des Toucans et des Barbus. It was drawn by Jacques Barraband, etched by Peree, colored by Langlois, and printed in Paris in 1806. The print measures 17.75" X 25.5" (large folio) with a platemark at 14” X 20.75”. The print is in excellent condition with amazingly bright and vivid original coloring. It is held to acid-free foam core with archival corners and shrink wrapped for protection. The corners and the shrink wrap may cause some glare in the photos. Please email for additional information or pictures.
