This original, line and stipple engraving – Le Petit Paradis Emeraude is from Francois Levaillant’s: Histoire Naturelle des oiseaux de paradis et ces Rolliers, Suivie de Celle des Toucans et des Barbus. It was drawn by Jacques Barraband, engraved by Peree and printed in Paris by Levaillant around 1805. The piece was printed “a la poupee” on fine, wove, watermarked paper and measures 12.75” X 18.75” with a sharp platemark at 9.75” X 14.5”. It is in excellent condition with light, unobtrusive, uneven age toning and a damp stain at the lower right margin (mats out easily). The print is in an acid-free environment and shrink wrapped for protection. The shrink wrap may cause some glare in the photos. Please email questions or for additional pictures.
