This original, hand colored, line and stipple copperplate engraving – Untitled (First-state without letterpress [Proof]) - is from Francois Levaillant's: Histoire Naturelle des oiseaux de paradis et ces Rolliers, Suivie de Celle des Toucans et des Barbus. It was drawn by Jacques Barraband, etched by Gremillier, colored by Rousset, and printed in Paris in 1801. The print measures 16" X 22.5" (large folio). The print is in excellent condition with amazingly bright and vivid original coloring. There is very light age toning to the sheet's edges. It is in an acid free environment and shrink wrapped for protection. The shrink wrap may cause some reflections in the photos. Please email for additional information or pictures.
