Sapphire Spiral ~ Swarovski and Spiral Stitch Necklace

Nestled and centered, a beautiful, sparkling Swarovski crystal (13 x6.5mm), faceted and shimmering.

To either side, delicate Turkish Sterling Silver (.925) and then the graceful spiraling of tiny Delica glass beads, Blue Topaz encircling the lightest of periwinkle. (More about Delica beads and spiral stitches below).

At evenly spaced intervals, light sapphire Swarovski crystals with an aurora borealis finish are framed by sterling until reaching the end points.

The necklace is finished with an ornate sterling silver toggle clasp. On either side, detailed bead caps of Turkish Brite sterling and additional Swarovski Crystals.

The finished necklace is 18".

More about Delica beads: Delica Beads are considered one of the best seed (or cylinder) beads currently made. They are very tiny, 18-19 beads per inch. (and yes, I do use a magnifying lamp when working with these!).

More about Spiral Stitch: A spiral pattern wraps beads around the length of core beads. It is a lovely stitch and there are many variations on it. I chose this variation for the necklace because it more dainty and delicate, complementing the size and weight of the Swarovski center bead.
