This beautiful Blue Willow covered vegetable casserole dish was made by Charles Allerton & Sons, England. The dish features a gorgeous dark blue transferprint with the classic blue willow scenes. Allerton’s transferware is held in high esteem due to the quality of the rich cobalt blue coloring. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is crazing as would be expected. It has a 6 sided form with scalloped edges forming the 6 sides of the bowl. It measures 10 ½ inches across the top rim and tapers to 5 inches across the base. It is 8 inches wide across the top rim and 2 inches deep. It is marked on the bottom with the Allertons A in wreath and England / Willow. This mark was used from 1929 to 1942. This is a fabulous addition to anyone’s vintage Blue Willow or Blue & White collection.
