Antique Early Mudman Mud Man Figurine China 1890-1919

This wonderful antique mudman has fabulous detail and a gorgeous glaze. The early mud man has a flowing robe that has a dimensional aspect at the chest and color where it gapes open to reveal the tan unglazed skin of this Chinese elder. The face is also unglazed. He has a long white beard and sideburns. He is holding a gourd. The statue is in excellent condition and stands 4 ½ inches tall. There is some grazing as would be expected for a piece of pottery this old. Based on the incised mark: CHINA, the figurine dates from between 1890 and 1919.
