'BLING IS KING!' Dior Lucite Swarovski Rhinestone Demi

"Bling is King" in Christian Dior's rhinestone-encrusted lucite jewelry. That's according to fashion gurus, when Dior first came out with its "Diorlywood" lucite collection.

Here's a demi-set of these increasingly hard-to-find lucite-and-rhinestone Diorlywoods, and it's true, it's true! They're really razzle-dazzling!

Our set consists of a cuff bracelet and a choker necklace in thick clear lucite, encrusted with clear Swarovski crystals.

The Diorlywood lucite jewelry, from what I've read, is the brainchild of top fashion designer John Galliano, who produces his own couture line as well as designing for Dior. Nowadays, when you hear Diorlywood, it usually refers to sunglasses.

Both our pieces have the sleek Deco styling, and what really set them apart is that the band of crystals running across the middle of both pieces are carved like lettlers and spell D-I-O-R repeatedly!

Hey, when you've got it, flaunt it, right?

The lucite is a quarter-of-an-inch thick in both pieces. It is a rigid arc, widest in the middle ( 1 1/2") and tapering off to 3/4" on either side.

The D-I-O-R band is flanked on eithe rside by graduated size Swarovski crystals.

The bracelet has a girth of 7", with a gap of 1" at the ends for the wrist to slip in.

The necklace is a 5 1/2" lucite arc, with black ribbons making up the rest of it! The 1/2" satin ribbon on either end of the lucite is 23" long, enough to wrap around once, twice, or more!

Our set is in excellent condition, with glitz and glam aplenty. The lucite is wonderfully unscuffed, and the satin ribbon on the choker has never been knotted, I think. I photographed the set against three different backgrounds to show how versatile it is to any color wardrobe.

The fashion story I read proclaimed that the Diorlywoods were "ideal for Divas and Drama Queens". I think just having this set elevates you into a diva! Now, that's a nice feeling indeed!

I have seen only one other Diorlywood jewelry out there, a bracelet with a tag of $400! Ours here is a set, and at this price, is a steal!
