Well, that spark of creativity grew to a whole menagerie of fabulous animal bangles that KJL is renowned for. One of his famous designs is this rhinestone-and-enamel tiger hinged bracelet, featured on p. 98 of his book.
Originally, circa 1969; our bracelet is probably an '80s reissue, but no less outstanding, with the same exact styling.
Our bangle has faux diamond rhinestone pavé chevron stripes alternating with shiny black enamel stripes all over. Except for the tiger face, which is gilt, with big rhinestone eyes and rhinestone-encrusted head and cheeks.
The tiger is clutching a gold hoop in its mouth, and in the hoop is the gilt tip of his tail.
The bracelet is hinged on the side, with the hidden push-in clasp near the tail. About 1" across at the tiger head, and mostly 3/8" elsewhere. At the tail end, it narrows to about 1/4" wide. The bangle has a girth of 6 /12".
Our tiger bangle is in very good condition, with minimal goldtone wear, no visible loss to the enamel, and all glitzy-rhinestones.
If you've always wanted a "tiger", here's one to "purr" about!
