Our necklace is four strands of alternating pearls and rondelles that can be worn two ways, long or twice looped for an even more luxurious eight-layered choker. Definitely, THE piece to wear to the White House or Buckingham Palace!

From KJL's earliest — and for the collector, most desirable — creative period, the '60s. From the estate of one of his earliest and original fans, a famous Manhattan socialite. In unbelievably mint condition, like it was never used at all!

The necklace is reminiscent of his famous super-long "Marella" multi-strand, which was inspired by Indian jewelry. KJL, in his memoirs, "Faking It", says he "fell madly in love" with India during a visit there in the '60s. Marella was a friend of his who brought home from India a rope necklace that KJL used as inspiration.

From his frequent travels to India evolved a group of jewelry with faux rubies, emeralds, diamonds and sapphires. Our necklace incorporates all of these colors, down to its ornate clasp decked with rich enameling and rhinestone pavé.

The strands each have creamy pearls interspersed with rondelles with the colors sapphire, emerald and ruby red built into the base. The pearls seem to be glass, and the rondelles, lucite with rhinestone insets.

The necklace is 32" long, and with the strands laid side-by-side, 1 1/2" wide. Can be twisted into a torsade. The necklace ends in a push-in clasp resembling two half-domes. The clasp has green, red and blue enamelled panels alternating with rhinestone strips. On ulta-rich looking goldtone.

Marked K.J.L. (with periods) and without a copyright, his earliest known logo, at the back of the clasp.

I've photographed every which way to show how fabulous this necklace is, glitter, colors and all! No flaws that I can see.

Flawless — and priceless! There may be some more out there of this, but I have not seen one yet.

Definitely, you'll feel like a "majaranee" or queen in this one, no kidding!
