GRAND SALE! 20% OFF Everything In the Store! Thru 4th of July!
From the early '50s, our signature Haskell hinged bangle is meticulously wrapped with hundreds of her famous lustrous pearls and topped off with two floral crescents laden with dazzling aurora borealis rose monteés. Wowee!
Only Haskell (apart from Stanley Hagler later) specialized in these pearl-wrapped bracelets, so although our piece is unsigned (as most of her earlier pieces are), it is unmistakably hers.
The bracelet has creamy seed pearls hand-wired into its two looped "arms". On the widest part of each loop sits a gilt filigree crescent full of AB rose monteés. A few gilt sprigs, accented with tiny baroque pearls and gilt cones, adorn the crescent.
The two AB crescents butt against each other at the top of the bangle, making for a truly stunning presentation.
The bangle has a girth of about 6 1/2" as is; it will fit larger wrists as a cuff bangle (meaning there would be a gap in between the two ends). The widest part at the top is 1 1/4" wide; at the hinge at the base, it is 1/2".
In overall excellent condition. There are a few pearls at the base of the two crescents that show nacre loss, and maybe a few more elsewhere, but these are not noticeable at all, as the bracelet is so beautiful.
The AB crescents are glittery and richly gilt. The bracelet beading is still tight and everything seems to still be securely in place despite this bracelet's age.
The last one of these kinds of bangles that I owned a few years ago sold for over $550 at an online auction. Their prices have not gone down, the last time I followed a similar item auctioned off recently. Don't pass up this one!
