Here's a welcome variation that's definitely a notch above the rest!
This Miriam Haskell-style bracelet has chunky bronze bead balls that are actually made up of tiny seed beads masterfully rolled up into huge balls then capped with ornate filigree.
Reminiscent of Moghul jewelry, it looks exotic and definitely something to rave about!
Unsigned, but displays the meticulously beaded creations of Miriam Haskell or her "disciples" — DeMario or Eugene. Acquired as part of a big lot of '30s-'60s Haskells (with a sprinkling of DeMarios), so I know it could only be one of these. Also, there are only a handful of designers out there who use glass beads this way, or use Russian gold-plated filigree findings.
This bracelet is just a beauty! It has eight bead balls, each of which is a tightly hand-wound ball of bronzy seed beads. The caps on both ends of each ball are so big they almost come together around the middle, totally encasing the beads. The caps have scalloped edges and scroll-like designs.
Each bead ball is 6/8" x 7/8". The bracelet is 8" long and has a large spring ring closure at the end. All Russian goldplating, down to the clasps.
Around the wrist, the bracelet has an olden-day glow about it. Exotic, gothic, medieval — I think your choice of wardrobe will accentuate any of these qualities in the bracelet. In turn, it is an accessory that will add a "wow factor" to your wardrobe. I like how lays on the wrist, as it stands out and cannot be ignored.
Excellent condition. Everything is intact. The bead balls are tightly wound, the Russian plating excellent. All this bracelet needs is somebody who will wear it with style!
