This Miriam Haskell faux baroque pearl bib necklace puts you in the company of these elite women. It is made of what I have dubbed as "supersize" pearls. Plus, this necklace also features a "killer" Nouveau-type centerpiece with a mabé pearl and lots of pearl dangles. Altogether, it's simply fantastic!

Each pearl in this double strand choker-type necklace is nearly 13mm each! In the world of pearls, anything 10mm and up is considered rare and prized (and for the real ones, expensive!).

There are 48 of these supersize pearls on the two strands, each spaced out by tiny seed pearls. The strands hold up an "inverted pyramid" gilt centerpiece that has an even larger mabé pearl center.

The mabé pearl is 1" long and 3/4" wide and is held in place by French decorative prongs. Its gilt base has flowers and scrolly ribbons.

At its base hangs five dangles, each with a short pearl chain ending with a huge pearl. The center pearl dangle is teardrop shaped and measures nearly 1" x 1/2". The other pearl dangles are elongated or oval pearls that are about 6/8" x 3/8". All the pearl dangles have filigree caps at the base.

From top to bottom, the centerpiece measures a tad short of 5" long! It is about 3" at the widest point at the top. Entire necklace length is about 16". The width across the two pearl strands is a bit over 1".

Has a trademark Haskell filigree push-in clasp. Marked Miriam Haskell within an oval plaque at the base of the clasp.

Our necklace is in excellent condition. Check out my pictures, as they show how super-lustrous those pearls are; I did not notice any loss of nacre. The goldtone is still rich and hardly shows wear.
