Add some sparkle to your life with beautiful vintage "ice"!
The glasswork is simply exquisite. There are seven opalescent flowers, clear glass with a hint of blue. Five clear glass leaves loop through the flowers, and spiky green glass leaves add a dramatic background. Faux pearls and green glass beads accent the floral bouquets at each end of the pin, and the middle section is row after row of small pearls with a soft, glowing lustre.
The pin is approximately 2 3/4" long and 1 1/4" wide. I see no peeling pearls and no breaks or chips in the intricate glasswork, and would rate the condition as excellent.
According to Deanna Farneti Cera, Rousselet founded his firm in France in 1919. He specialized in the production of glass pearls, and made pieces for the Folies-Bergere and the Moulin Rouge. He also designed pieces for the best houses, including Chanel, Patou, Fath, Schiaparelli and Balmain.
It isn't difficult to imagine this little masterpiece fitting in with such exalted company!
