The dimensions are 8.5"w x 7"d x 3.5"h.

This Japanese inspired Sardine Box is of the Argenta Majolica series Wedgwood is famous for. All these designs came in a variety of colors as well. Some collectors focus only on this type of Majolica and for good reasons, a display of Wedgwood Argenta is very striking! (Please see Karmason/Stacke p 81 for more info). The one pictured here had a mate which we sold to Whoopi Goldberg on one of her visits to Toronto. A bit of name dropping here. The box is in excellent but not mint condition. There is a prof. repair to one area of the bottom part rim between 2 prunus blossoms as well as 2 repairs to some glaze roughness on the rim of the lid. All of which is not visible unless pointed out. The piece looks mint. The glaze is unflawed, no scratches.
