MAGNIFICENT VINTAGE VICTORIAN LOVE BIRDS BEADED VANITY PURSE OR RETICULE, C1900! Exquisitely and intricately beaded lovebirds over velvet and silk reticule. The love birds are identical on both sides of the purse! Bead colors include teal, blue, yellow-gold, green, red and white. The body of the purse is made of teal green silk. The reticule ends in a v-shape outlined with blue beads and hanging white looped and twisted beads. The top of the purse is a deep blue velvet which draws together to one side. The silk draw string/rope is threaded through celluloid rings and still retains its original openwork filigree brass closure at the end of the draw string. The inside of the purse is in mint condition with an intact lining. This beauty has quite a bit of weight to it and measures 11 1/4" from top of bag to "point" of v-shaped fringe and 5" wide and is in EXCELLENT condition with only a couple of strands of fringe missing from the bottom (does not detract as fringed beading is quite thick so cannot see missing strands). A real Victorian beauty!
