Victorian Egyptian Revival Gold Gilt Egg Shaped Chatelaine Thimble Holder With Egyptian Hieroglyphics & Faceted Jet Bead Chain, C1880. Stunning Victorian chatelaine thimble holder with elaborate little chain with alternating faceted jet beads. This detailed thimble holder is gold gilt with magnificent Egyptian Hieroglyphics. It opens to reveal the original thimble. This diminutive beauty measures 1 3/4" long, 1" wide and 2 1/2" from the tip of the chain to the bottom of the egg. It is in Excellent condition with no dents, no dings, no wear to the color or design. This piece is actually all gold tone in color, any darker color on the egg is from lighting. Opens easily and closes snugly.
