Victorian Hair Work Picture With German Die-Cut, Velvet Matting, Framed, C1880. Gorgeous Victorian Hair Work picture. Hair shaped in design of flowers with beading with a beautiful, colorful German die-cut as the "vase". This is set against a cream colored silk background. This fantastic hair work piece still retains its original oval convex glass covering and original green velvet matting. The frame and backing has been replaced. This unusual beauty measures 3" tall and 2 1/2" wide at the oval with the frame measuring 8 1/2" long and 6 3/4" wide and is in Excellent condition with no rips or tears, no cracks or breaks to the glass. The matting is green velvet though some pictures make it look gray. Any white spots are light or camera glare. It is ready to hang. We live in a smoke free environment.
