Rare Large Art Nouveau 22k Gold and Tortoise Celluloid Hair Comb, C1895, Signed. Rare and Magnificent 22k Gold and Celluloid Haircomb, C1895! Beautiful vintage hair comb with exquisite Art Nouveau floral and leaf design masterfully carved in 22k gold. It has the maker's mark on the back of the end tine: the letter E and some type of symbol. This fabulous comb measures 4 1/2" high 5" wide and is in Excellent condition with some scratching to the celluloid on the back, commensurate with its age and having actually been worn. The gold has been tested and confirmed by my jeweler. The gold work is superb and in pristine condition. It is a sold piece of gold work, not hollow, weighing 58 grams (including the celluloid). A fabulous one of a kind piece for your collection!
