This very early Victorian era brooch dates to the 1860's. This brooch can be seen in the beautiful book: "Answers to Questions about Old Jewelry" by C. Jeanenne Bell", 6th Edition, page 79. It is identical and it is priced there at $395.00. It is Rose gold plated metal in a twisted mounting design. It is set with a hand painted porcelain portrait measuring 2" x 1 1/2". It has a nice secure old style "C" clasp and the porcelain is impressed on the back: "30". It is in beautiful condition with no damage and we guarantee our items to be as described.
