Chase Brass Art Deco Round Butter Dish

A round butter server by Chase in chromed brass with an ivory Bakelite knob. This Art Deco piece was part of a tableware and hospitality line introduced by Chase in the 1930's to expand their retail profile.

This set, which was Chase item #17067, consists of a dish, lid and pierced insert which allowed the bottom of the dish with crushed ice so the butter wouldn't melt. It is missing the two-pronged fork which originally came with it.

It is 6" in diameter and 3" tall.

Condition: light wear to the bottom of the dish. There are also several vertical stress cracks in the sides of the bottom of the dish. These are a result of the manufacturing process (brass sometimes cracks due to the stresses caused in forming it), but as they are a major defect, I have priced the set accordingly.

Marked on the bottom with the Chase centaur logo.
