The Brotherhood Original Theatrical Poster

From a collection of movie posters from the late 60's and early 70's that we're offering, we've got this great, original vintage theatrical poster. This collection was assembled by a man who worked at a small theater in Southern New Jersey during this era. One of his jobs was to change out the posters for the films they showed, and he took home the ones he liked.

This is an original poster for "The Brotherhood", a mafia movie about the struggle between two brothers, one of whom wants to escape the family business.

The poster shows "Kirk Douglas Giving the Kiss of Death!" as the tagline points out. This film's failure to perform at the box office almost led to the cancellation of another Paramount mob movie then in the works -the Godfather. Fortunately Mario Puzio's book was a runaway bestseller and, as Paramount had originally commissioned the work (it was a treatment before it was a book) they couldn't not make the film and the rest is history.

Condition: Folded, extremely slight wear at folds.
