We have here an exceptionally fine vintage example. It is a standard tri-color piece, with Portland blue, light blue and white combined. The base is solid, light blue Jasper, which means the Portland field would have been recessed into the light blue by hand. The cameo relief is in white, and features the Three Graces dancing, surrounded by a decorative border.
The cameo is 1.375" in diameter. It is set in a gold-filled frame, which is unmarked, which suggests that this piece was mounted somewhere other than England or the United States.
The cameo is marked on the back with the usual Wedgwood mark, along with the date, 1969, and the decorator's mark, "C".
Condition of the cameo is as new, no wear or damage. The gold-filled frame is slightly out of round at the back, but this is noticeable when the brooch is worn. The safety clasp is in fine condition.
