Specialists in Elegant & Depression Glass, American Dinnerware And Wedgwood Jasper Ware
This pattern was designed by the great Russel Wright, who wanted to create a new style of tableware to fit the most causal lifestyle of the postwar era. Pieces stacked did double duty, and could be used buffet style or traditionally. The line was offered as open stock, so colors could be mixed and matched to the purchasers' tastes.
This piece is Granite Gray, a lovely, light mottled gray color.
The underplate/relish is 10.875" long by 6.25" wide. The boat is 10.375 by 3.75" across.
Condition excellent: There is extremely light crazing to the exterior of the gravy and to the top of the underplate, which is common in this patter. It can only be seen under close inspection. There is also a thin spot (0.5" long) to the glaze on the interior rim on the gravy. No other wear or damage.
Marked on the bottom of the plate Russel Wright MFG by Steubenville.
