The Chocolate color (as seen in this plate) is really interesting, as the formula was created by Jacob Rosenthal, who worked as Fenton's glass chemist in the early part of the 20th century. Rosenthal originally created this chocolate color for Greentown Glass, where he had previously worked as their glass chemist (Greentown closed due to fire in 1903; Rosenthal started at Fenton with the year).
The plate is 8.25" in diameter, and is excellent condition; no chips, cracks, wear or damage. It bears a large Fenton logo and a quote from Daniel Webster on the back.
Chocolate glass is very hard to find, and this is rare plate in a very unusual color, at a very low price.
