A fine Vernon Kilns souvenir plate made for the town of Hannibal, Missouri, Mark Twain's (Samuel Clemens') boyhood home. the plate is 10.25" in diameter. Condition: there is one small (0.125" long) mark in the glaze in the center of the plate. Otherwise fine. Marked "Designed by Vernon Kilns" on the back.

Vernon Kilns in about 1950 introduce a plaid patter that had different names for the different color combinations. The names were Gingham for the green, yellow and brown; Tweed for the yellow, blue and gray; Homespun for the yellow and brown. Some of the pieces have quite distinct shapes. We are please to be able to offer a number of pieces in the Gingham by Vernon Kilns. This is the large round serving platter. It is 14 inches in diameter. We also have a smaller platter.
