A fine McCoy teapot from a late dinnerware line called Sandstone. This line, executed in a heavy, stoneware-like clay, was decorated by dipping the piece into two different glazes or else the same glaze twice. The result is a banding from beige to a dark, metallic brown. The style of the piece suggests is was made in the 1970's, but it may date from the early 80's just as easily.
