A fine blue transferware dinner plate in the Abbey pattern. This pattern was originally produced by William Adams as Abbey Wreath in the 1840's. George Jones & Sons bought the Adams pattern in 1861. They began producing Abbey in 1901 and continued into the 30's. This plate, which is printed in a strong cobalt blue is on a white ironstone blank with a scalloped edge. It's 10.375" in diameter.
