A fine large enameled metal (probably copper) charger or wall hanging designed by and made for Sasha Brastoff, the Mid-century Modern designer. This example is decorated with strong colors -blues, greens and gold- in a biomorphic abstract design. The white and green areas of the decoration are actually raised from the surface. A vintage cast iron door stop in the shape of a flower-laden cottage surrounded by a white picket fence. This doorstop was made by the National Foundry. It is 8" wide by 5.5" tall by 2" deep. A set of table crumbers manufactured by Chase in chromed brass with ivory Bakelite handles. These were made in the 1930's as part of a tableware and hospitality line Chase developed as an attempt to expand their business. The pieces were uniformly in the Art Deco style which was popular at the time. The crumbers are 8" by 5.5" and 7.675" by 4.125". They were Chase item #90092. Here's a really nice pair of cast iron bookends in the shape of elephants. They are listed in the "Collector's Encyclopedia of Bookends" as plate 894 on page 146. They are cast iron, with a bronze finish. They are 4" tall and 5" long. Both are marked on the back with a number: 134. Condition: green felt on the bottoms is showing its age, otherwise fine.

A round butter server by Chase in chromed brass with an ivory Bakelite knob. This Art Deco piece was part of a tableware and hospitality line introduced by Chase in the 1930's to expand their retail profile. This set, which was Chase item #17067, consists of a dish, lid and pierced insert which allowed the bottom of the dish with crushed ice so the butter wouldn't melt. A little comport or footed candy dish by Farberware. It is made of chromed metal and "apple juice" colored Bakelite. The overall shape, from the shallow bowl with the knurled rim to the fluted bakelite stem is all pure Art Deco, and the piece unquestionably dates to the 1930's. is 3.25" tall and 5.125" in diameter at the top. Here's a beautiful piece of British royal memorabilia. It is an enameled metal beaker celebrating the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. In late 1896, Victoria surpassed King George III as England's longest-reigning monarch. She asked that all celebrations be put off until her the celebration of her 60th year on the throne the following year. Here's a wonderful piece of mid-century modern decoration. It is a large enameled copper plate designed by Sasha Brastoff. The plate is decorated with clusters of grapes executed in blue, green and gold on a turquoise background. It is signed "Sascha B." in gold near the bottom edge. This particular plate is illustrated in Leslie Pina's "Designed & Signed" book on page 136.
