Here is a very attractive ring that is of more modern times. It is marked 925 (Sterling) and 18K (which must refer to the very thin layers of gold-colored metal that are used in two places in the design. There are marcasites and nice detail abounds. The ring is a size 9 1/2. The photograph conveys what the naked eye cannot see -- there is a little tear in one of the gold overlay pieces and the other is dented (the overlay is very thin).
