Vintage Black Satin Brocade Cocktail Dress – Sixties – Small

This vintage black cocktail dress from the early 1960s is just fabulous! Hand made from a synthetic black satin brocade, it closes at the center back with a metal zipper and hook and eye at the neckline. The bust is shaped with a center V that is decorated with a self-fabric covered button. Bands just below the princess waistline proceed around the center back where they meet in a pretty bow that fastens across the zipper with a snap. The wide boat neck collar let you show off your exceptional taste in vintage costume jewelry! Nice for cooler weather, this “little black dress” has ¾ length sleeves.

The color is true black. Photos have been lightened to try to show detail.

Condition is excellent. The only flaw I’ve found is at the center back zipper where it looks like the fabric was caught and repaired. This is mostly hidden by the bow at the back.

The hem is nice and wide and could be let down almost 4 ½”.

Bust: 34” Waist: 32” Hips: 38” Back Shoulder width (shoulder seam to shoulder seam): 14 ¼” Sleeve width at cuff: 12” Dress length from center of front shoulder seam: 40”

Be sure to add an inch or two to your own measurements to allow for ease of movement.
