Return Policy
Ruby Lane and each of its independent shops want you to be satisfied with your purchase. To ensure your satisfaction and for the protection of both the buyer and shop owner, we have a Return Policy that each Ruby Lane shop owner honors. View Return Policy now.

Shipping/Handling/Insurance Policy:
Buyer pays for actual shipping, handling and insurance via USPS. First class shipping for a jewelry item is typically $2.00- 3.00 within the USA, I also use Priority Mail at $5.00, and insurance for items over $50.00 is greatly encouraged.

For items at $100.00 and over insurance is required. I only charge what I have to pay for insurance - no "handling fees". For addresses outside the US, airmail is utilized at a cost of $4.00, or Global Priority Mail at $16.00.

Restocking Fee:
We reserve the right to charge a 20% restocking fee (effective 2/7/2008) on returned items, HOWEVER - (Please keep reading) I've only charged the re-stocking fee one time in over 4 years, due to a item being returned in damaged condition eighteen days after it had been received in "very fine+++ condition".

Items to be returned within the "RETURNED POLICY PROCEDURE" as specified by Ruby Lane.

LAYAWAY: **

Layaway is typically offered for items costing $400.00+ and more. We like to ask for 35% down on layaway items, however that's not a hard and fast rule - contact us to work out a custom payment plan that works for you!

Payments to be made at regular intervals and to complete within three (3) months, unless other arrangements have been made.

Effective 11/17/2007:

Layaways that are problematic; (late more than once, bounced check, failing to make payment(s) in the agreed amount, and or failing to make final payment in a timely manner) can be considered cause, and at their discretion, Bay Jewels reserves the right to cancel any order that falls into the aforementioned category.

In the event that your order is canceled, Bay Jewels will calculate your "to date" payments for the layaway period or six months, and will refund you 50% (half) of your payments in the same manner you made your payment(s) (paypal, check, etc.) within 10 days of the cancellation. The initial layaway payment will be considered forfeit is not refundable.

We do not allow returns on layaway items, or any items that have been sized or modified.

**On certain items, our layaway policy will, of necessity, differ, allowing that some items will not qualify for layaway due to price, or in the case of some consignments we reserve the right to modify the aforementioned 'guidelines' on an individual, piece by piece basis.
