A fabulous handmade (not a machined or 'punched' jewel) 18K yellow gold ladies amethyst and natural river pearl bar pin of exceptional design, Edwardian - Art Nouveau era.

Bar pin measures a large 2 3/4" X 1/3" and has a substantial weight of 8.1 grams. The gold is 'bloomed' and has a terrific soft, matte-frosted appearance (as opposed to a high polish finish) and is one of the commonalities we admire in jewelry of this period.

I don't usually purchase bar pins as most ladies don't wear them as much as other jewels, however when I saw this one, I changed my mind and had to have it. This bar pin is not only exceptional in design and condition, it has a nice larger than usual size - and it worked perfectly for me to wear it as a barrette the other day for a party!

Pin is not marked, however both our consulting bench jeweler and myself have acid tested this jewel and guarantee it to be solid 18K gold.
