Julian Ritter was born in Hamburg,Germany in 1909. Julian grew up the son of a Polish actress. He never knew who his Father was although his mother always told him he was a Count. He immigrated to America in 1924 staying in Chicago where he studied at the AIC. After moving to Los Angeles in 1930, he further studied at the art center school with Stanley Reckless. He then worked for various film studios painting portraits and backgrounds for movie sets.In 1939 he did murals for the GGIE. After serving in the war he moved back to Los Angeles. From 1966 to 1985 living in Santa Barbara and the Hawaii till his death od Feb. 27 2000. He is well listed for Nudes and tropical landscapes. this painting is 29 " X 20 ".
