The perfect late 1950s vintage Vixen Bombshell sweater, the cream color hand knit surface totally COVERED in sparkling Aurora Borealis pailettes and embellished with three-dimensional sequinned Peony blossoms set with faux pearl centers and tiny green glass beaded stems and leaves! This beauty is amazing. Each of the flowers is made of layered sequins in shades of red, blue, yellow and pink and are fantastic. It has a round neckline, and is sleeveless; lined in ivory silk and has a center metal zipper that goes completely up the back. It closes at the top and the waist with a hook and eye. Crafted by the Peter Chow Sweater Factory in Hong Kong, it was made to fit a 'real woman's' body, fitting a 40" Bust and Hip, with 17 1/2" shoulder. Sweater measures 22" in length, from shoulder seam to hem edge. The condition is Excellent, with only slight age-related yellowing to the lining fabric around the inside of the armholes, near the zipper, and the neck opening, as well as a couple of marks near the embroidered label. No stains or damages of any kind. The knit is tight, the seams strong, and all the sequins of the flowers, the AB pailettes, the green glass beads, and faux pearls are all intact and undamaged. The zipper and the hooks and eyes work smoothly and close perfectly as well. There is a code on the inside binding strip alongside the zipper and below the embroidered Peter Chow label that confirms that this was a hand made couture design for a specific customer. No fabric content label, but it feels like an wool and silk blend, soft yet substantial. A gorgeous sweater!
