Wonderful McCall's Crafts #8865 pattern for Brooke Shields Moon Bears pillowy delights stuffed toys. Brooke became involved in the quest in the early 1980s to save these rare bears, and her proceeds from the sale of this pattern went to help in that endeavor. The Asiatic Black Bear (Ursus Selenarctos Thibetanus) is often called the Moon Bear. The name is related to the crescent moon found on the bears' chest. The Moon Bear is an endangered species, due to the harvesting of its gallbladder by China. There are three sizes of the toy: Large, approximately 35" Tall; Medium, approximately 21 1/2" Tall; and Small, approximately 15" Tall. The pattern is in Uncut, factory folded Mint condition, Complete with all directions sheets. The envelope has some wear, with discoloration and curled seams on the reverse and missing top flap, ragged paper edge.
