Wonderful 1907 embossed Kris Kringle Series No.1 Santa Claus postcard, 'A Merry Christmas' depicting Kris Kringle holding the world/globe in his arms as he smokes his pipe and smiles. There are lots of toys at his feet: Two boats, a top, dolly, drum, Jack in the Box, stuffed elephant, and a teddy bear. The full Moon is in the background against a dark blue night sky, the borders of the card with clusters of Holly and Berries, plus a group of gilded bells. The text on the front banner of the card is: 'The world is mine, this night I thing Said jolly St. Nick with a knowing wink. For the Children all say that wherere I stop I leave pretty presents fresh from the Shop'. Edges are also gold gilt. The back of the card has a message from Flossie to Verna in pencil, but has not been mailed. The card is in Very Good condition, with minor wear to the edges and corners. One less than 1/16" tear at the bottom edge, not even visible from the front. Slight discoloration to the stock on the verso. Shipped in a rigid sleeve and mailer for a safe journey.
