Stunning and unusual 1930s hand painted flower-ringed Celluloid Habille Cameo brooch, signed 'Japan' on the reverse. The Cameo brooch is large, measuring 2 1/2" x 2", with the lovely Wildflowers ringing the outer edge all hand painted. The highly detailed repousse' Lady is in right profile, a necklace with tiny white rhinestones around her neck. The back has a simple latching pin bar, consistent with the advanced age of the piece and it works very well (latch bar was intentionally pushed down to show end in photo; not bent or damaged). This is truly a remarkable and gorgeous brooch, in outstanding condition. No chipping or damages to the Celluloid, with only a hint of paint wear to the flowers and slight rub on the hair tendrils. All rhinestones in the necklace are bright and present. A rare and beautiful antique piece for the serious collector of early plastics.
