Attention Project Runway fans! A fabulous 1970 First Edition sewing book for 'hi-fashion' vintage design, or as the author Helen S. Jones states, "..designed for you gals who enjoy (constructing) professional looking garments in the least amount of time." She starts off on page 1 with a cute 'label' list of often mispronounced Parisian Fashion Designer names such a Guy Laroche, Balenciaga, Jacques Heim, etc. with their phonetic pronunciations underneath, and from that point forward gets serious about the art and science of sewing for 202 pages! Guides and charts, illustrations and detailed text provide all the information you need to plan your projects, buy the correct fabric and trims and construct your garments in the 'couture' manner~without all of the hand stitching needed to complete the details. The book is in Excellent condition, with only light soil in a few spots and bottom spine rubbing to the illustrated cloth cover boards; pages are very slightly toned at the edges, but otherwise tight and bright with no writing, stains or damage. A wonderful book for the home sewer, ready to advance her projects to the next level of design.
