Original watercolor painting by the listed American painter Carol C. Child. This work measures 12 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches, sight, and 20 1/2 by 17 1/2 inches, frame. Signed by the artist in the lower corner "C. C. Child" underneath the matting. Housed in a period gold toned wood frame with a hand-lined mat. New owner should consider replacing the mat. Frame shows signs of wear, but could easily be displayed as is. This is a wonderful delicate work with a light palette. Child masterfully handles the lighting in this plein air rendition of a Spring time Missouri valley. Sure to please. Child is listed in Who Was Who in American Art. Born in Middlebury, Vermont. Lived and worked in St. Louis, MO. Studied under M. Seymour. Member of the SLA.
