ANTIQUE VICTORIAN Ivory Pendant Carved as a Rose!

It's a well known fact that the best pieces of ivory retain their original cream coloring - NOT darkening over time. But sometimes, age and wear can hasten on a change of color.

Here I have a hand carved ivory pendant in the shape of a rose. From the front, the piece is mostly cream but with tonal variations. On the back you can discern with ease how the ivory darkened on one side and stayed true on the other. Some people like this effect - some don't. Me? I rather like it as it does show a definite indication of age.

Measuring 1-7/16" x 1-1/4" and in very nice condition with no nicks, cracks, breaks or repairs, the rose shows only a little "dust" from ages past. Carved bale at the back that just needs a piece of ribbon or an appropriate gold chain.
