Antique Victorian and gold filled. With a hand carved mother of pearl depiction of a figa? higa? to ward off the evil eye. What IS this thing called?

The antique charm measures 1-3/16" long and was found on a men's gold filled watch chain - it served as a fob! Excellent condition with no problems that I can spot. No cracks, chips or discoloration. A very nice piece!
